FEATURES

Does the PureVideo Decoder support Blu-ray and HD DVD high-definition video discs?
No. The PureVideo Decoder only works with the standard definition DVDs. The PureVideo Decoder also supports MPEG-2 transport streams used by many TV tuners.

Are there plans to add Blu-ray and/or HD DVD support?
No. Moving forward, NVIDIA is enabling third-party applications to use its PureVideo technology. Click here for a list of PureVideo compatible applications that support Blu-ray and HD DVD.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

How long can I receive technical support for this product?
NVIDIA will provide up to 90 days of direct technical support for this product after the date of purchase.  After 90 days, NVIDIA will continue to provide new versions of the product that may fix your problems at no cost via www.nvidia.com, but will not provide direct technical support.

Where do I get technical support for this product?

I lost or forgot my Customer care ID.  Where can I get that?
The customer care ID information is provided on the order confirmation page and in the order confirmation e-mail. If you have lost your product activation information, please visit store.nvidia.com and login to view your previous orders.

AUDIO AND SURROUND SOUND

What audio feature do I get with the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder?
The NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder supports Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding downmixed into 2-channel stereo, Dolby Pro Logic surround sound, Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS S/PDIF digital output.

How do I turn on S/PDIF mode?
Browse to the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder Properties and select the “Audio” properties page.  Click on the “Speaker Setup” button and select “a receiver” and then check “via an S/PDIF cable”.  After this is done, the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder will be in bypass mode and output all audio to an external receiver or decoder, including Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS surround sound.

Does this product support Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound for my 5.1 speaker configuration?
Yes, the Gold and Platinum product SKUs support Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding. You can also use an external audio decoder and set NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder to S/PDIF mode. All versions support S/PDIF mode.

Does this product support DTS surround sound, my 5.1 speaker configuration?
Yes, the Platinum version of the product supports DTS. You can also enable DTS pass through mode using an external audio decoder and setting NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder to S/PDIF mode.

GRAPHICS CARDS

Does this product take advantage of hardware acceleration on NVIDIA graphics processors?
Yes, this product takes advantage of the PureVideo video playback, de-interlacing, and filtering capabilities of NVIDIA graphics processors.

    THIRD-PARTY APPLICATION SUPPORT

    What applications does this product work with?
    The NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder contains a video decoder and an audio decoder that are compatible with many third party applications.  The video decoder is compatible with any third party application that uses Microsoft DirectShow interfaces for accessing decoders.  The audio decoder is only compatible with Windows Media Player 9 or higher and Windows Media Center for DVD playback. However, you can still configure the NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder to use S/PDIF mode with any third-party application and output audio to an external decoder.
