Students, get ready to show off your creative prowess with the RTX Student Summer Showcase! This summer, NVIDIA is inviting you to test your VFX skills on GeForce RTX using Unreal Engine 5, with the chance to take home some incredible prizes.

Win an NVIDIA Studio Powered Laptop

The creator of the winning piece will snag the new ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED with GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU to supercharge their creative arsenal.

There are also two ASUS Vivobook Pro 16 OLED with GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPUs up for grabs, as two runner-up submissions will be chosen alongside the winning scene.

With the RTX Student Summer Showcase, we are inviting students from across the UK to create a stunning 30-second VFX scene using GeForce RTX hardware that captures the essence of summer and the “Summer Holidays”, using Unreal Engine 5. Whether it’s a futuristic vista lit by a sweltering sun or a beachside scene with mesmerising water effects, let your imagination run wild. Push the boundaries of creativity and showcase your artistic skills.

Any student enrolled in a UK-based university can take part in this fantastic opportunity to showcase their creativity.

Craft your 30-second entry using Unreal Engine 5 and draw inspiration from the vibrant theme of ‘summer’ and the ‘Summer Holidays’. Gain an edge over the competition by including real-time ray tracing in your creation for a richer experience.

The deadline for submission is September 17th, 2023, and you can share your final render to social media by tagging @NVIDIAStudio and @NVIDIAGeForceUK with #RTXSummerShowcase.

Rules

You must be currently enrolled at a UK-based university to participate
Your work must be centred around the theme of ‘Summer’ and ‘Summer Holidays’
Entries must be made using GeForce RTX Desktop or Laptop hardware in Unreal Engine 5
- Submissions must be uploaded to social media, tagging @NVIDIAStudio and @NVIDIAGeForceUK with #RTXSummerShowcase
Entries must be exactly 30 seconds long
Scenes that incorporate ray tracing will be given extra points when moving through the judging process

The deadline for submission is 11:59PM BST on September 17th, 2023
- One (1) winner and two (2) runners-up will be contacted on or around September 30th where you will be asked to submit a zip file of your Unreal Engine 5 project files to verify winner eligibility
- Winning entries will need to provide full name, university you are enrolled in & details of GeForce RTX hardware used to create submission
The winner and runners-up will be revealed on or around October 9th, 2023
