Valve’s Proton is a compatibility layer that enables games made for Windows to also be played on Linux-based operating systems. Now, a new Proton Experimental build has been released, featuring changes from NVIDIA, enabling GeForce RTX 40 Series owners to multiply performance in games supporting DLSS Frame Generation.

Support for DLSS Super Resolution was introduced in 2022, and now GeForce RTX 40 Series owners can enjoy even faster performance in their favorite Proton-powered titles. Simply update to the new build and Frame Generation will instantly work when enabled via each game’s settings. To download, open Steam and head to Settings --> Steam Play, select the new Experimental build in the drop down, and click OK.
