I have played 102 hours with Witcher 3 on Geforce Now, all was well. I haven't played for about 1.5 weeks (that was version 4.02). I wanted to play today (current version is 4.03), and I've found that my 102 hours worth of saves are gone - only options is to start a new game. Is it a GFN issue? Is it a Steam issue? Is it a Witcher 3 issue? Or a combination of these?
The same happened to me. I already posted a thread on the subject here. I already contacted Nvidia chat but it didn't solve it. The only option to play is to start from scratch but after exiting the game all saves disappear
Yes, I have same problem for my Witcher 3 on GFN -- this is really a big drama and mess :-( I use Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019, but for me I was able to play once Witcher 3 on the version 4.03 -- last save was there. But, later there was GeForce Now application upgrade to ver. 6.01.32841569 and after this one I cannot see any more saves.
My X4 Foundation save games are gone from GFN too, but they are on my local machine and steam cloud so it's definitely a GFN issue, as alwyas...
EDIT [SOLED]:
For anyone else having similar issues, the way I solved mine is by booting up the game on my machine, loading my save, then SAVING again, from within the game, then exiting the game and waiting for my steam to upload the fresh saves to the cloud. This finally busted the cache or whatever the hell it did, and now I can see (only the fresh) saves on GFN, though all other old saves are still not in the cloud, but that's fine cause my game progress is what I cared about. Good luck!
Same problem for me, lost all of my progress and almost 100h of gameplay. Don't want to start it from scratch and demand Nvidia to solve the problem as soon as possible and retrieve our save files
For everyone else having problems with their saves, I can't say it will work for you but the way I fixed mine is by booting up the game on my machine, loading my save, then SAVING again, from within the game, then exiting the game and waiting for my steam to upload the fresh saves to the cloud. This finally busted the cache or whatever the hell it did, and now I can see (only the fresh) saves on GFN, though all other old saves are still not in the cloud, but that's fine cause my game progress is what I cared about.
I suspect this is a GFN/steam related cache busting issue that happened because I refused to leave the GFN game server until the very last second during the latest GFN server maintenance a few days ago. Moral of the story, if GFN gives you a maintenance countdown, don't play until the very last second...
Good luck!
Luckily, there is a warning now that you will lose your progress on GFN when you start the game. Losing over 100h of gameplay would be devastating! Thanks for the workaround. I have copied my save games now to a different location, just in case ….
When you first install the game on your machine, and the cloud is synched, all your saves should also be in GFN. Weird is, that the dates of my saves predate the time I played the game for the first time by many years.
Hello, today when I launched Witcher 3, it loaded my save files from 2 years ago. I've played a little recently and can't figure out what happened to my files from this week. Any ideas?
