Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PC Open Beta Early Access Begins October 15, Supports NVIDIA Reflex and Highlights

Get your first hands-on moments with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War this week, thanks to a new multiplayer beta, which you can pre-load now via the Battle.net client. For the ultimate experience on PC, enable NVIDIA Reflex for the lowest latency, and NVIDIA Highlights, to further leverage the capabilities of your GeForce GPU.

Early Access to the Open Beta begins on October 15 for pre-purchase customers. Starting October 17, everyone can play

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Open Beta will be free, with players who pre-purchased digitally gaining early access. During the beta, experience signature Black Ops combat across traditional 6v6 modes, the higher player count 12v12 Combined Arms, and a brand-new 40-player mode, Fireteam: Dirty Bomb. The beta will feature a selection of the game’s Multiplayer maps set in distinct global locations during the Cold War. Players can progress and rank up in the Beta-specific levelling system where loadout items, including new weaponry, covert spy tech through Field Upgrades, and badass Scorestreaks can be unlocked by earning XP.

 

For the Beta, Activision recommends the following setups:

Beta Minimum Spec

  • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-Bit (1803 or later)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent.
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2GB / GTX 1650 4GB

Beta Recommended Spec

  • OS: Windows 10 64 Bit (latest Service Pack)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4770k or AMD equivalent
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB / GTX 1660 Super 6GB

Stepping up to a faster GPU will allow you to play at higher frame rates and 4K, with maxed out graphics, giving you the clearest and most detailed experience possible.

Optimize Responsiveness With NVIDIA Reflex

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PC Open Beta also includes NVIDIA Reflex, an in-game option that reduces system latency for millions of GeForce gamers. System latency (often referred to as “input lag”), is one of the key factors affecting the responsiveness of any kind of gameplay. And when playing online, low system latency can make you more competitive.

To enable, download and install our latest Game Ready Driver, head into the game’s graphics options, and switch on NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency.

Record Your Best Beta Moments With NVIDIA Highlights

While battling online, ensure your best multiplayer moments are automatically recorded using NVIDIA Highlights. Capture kill streaks, unique moments, and more, then edit and upload to YouTube and social media.

To enable Highlights, load GeForce Experience before you boot the beta, enter Settings via the cog icon, and ensure “In-Game Overlay” is on. Then load the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PC Open Beta, and you’ll be promoted to activate Highlights.

Ray Tracing and DLSS Available On November 13

When Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches November 13th, the game will feature immersive ray-traced effects, and performance-accelerating NVIDIA DLSS technology.
