We'll present the technical proof-of-concept jointly achieved by Renault and Dassault Systèmes (DS) on the AWS cloud. Renault leverages DS global illumination technology to accurately simulate appearance of the vehicles to take decisions on digital review. To produce this type of quality in real time, Renault needs to combine teraflops-scale HPC capacity with on-demand provisioning. Renault was willing to check how they could balance some of their peak rendering needs in the cloud and how Stellar Physically Correct, designed by DS R&D and based on NVIDIA OptiX SDK, could scale on a large number of GPUs. After covering the Renault use case and the scope of the testing, we'll present detailed scalability results on Tesla T4 and up to 4,000 Tesla V100 on AWS infrastructure, as well as early results on the latest NVIDIA A100. NICE DCV was leveraged to stream the virtual workstation from the AWS cloud to the engineers' desktop.
