Maximizing Hardware Resources and Flexibility in Omniverse using vGPU in the Data Center
, Senior Solutions Architect, NVIDIA
Using physical workstations with Omniverse is a great way to get started, but really limits your flexibility. Each GPU (and other hardware) put in a physical workstation becomes locked to an individual user. When that user isn't working, or is working on less-intensive applications, their hardware resources go unused and wasted. By leveraging data center virtualization and NVIDIA's vGPU technology, hardware resources in the data center become flexible. Virtualized environments can be designed around Omniverse and built to give the best bang for your buck, in addition to added management functionality and enhanced security. We'll give a basic introduction to Omniverse and its general setup, along with an overview of data center virtualization, including a focus on vGPU features and functionality and how that can all come together to build a functional and flexible environment for Omniverse. Previous knowledge of Omniverse, vGPU, and virtualization is not required.
