About 20% of acute strokes are missed in the emergency department, and those patients miss the opportunity for life-saving treatments. Houston Methodist Institute for Academic Medicine is developing AI tools running on NVIDIA GPUs to identify stroke early in triage, in radiological diagnosis of stroke, and integrating these insights with the patient's medical history to make a precise diagnosis as an AI stroke specialist. The purpose of the AI stroke specialist is to augment the human stroke specialist in the diagnostic decision so that patients have access to timely stroke treatments. We'll walk you through the work done so far to build an AI stroke specialist, the NVIDIA tech stack used (including Clara AGX), and how it can serve as the foundation for a smart hospital of the future.
