Three Ways Artificial Intelligence is Transforming Telecommunications
, Senior Vice President Telecommunications, NVIDIA
The world is witnessing a transformation with generative AI. Telecom operators around the world are among the first to demonstrate their desire to adopt and to invest in generative AI. Customer care and network operations are the first target applications of generative AI for Telecom operators. Telecom operators are now seeing the opportunity afforded by the need for generative AI coupled with their unique sovereign position and their access to space and power. This is resulting in rapid capital outlay to build, and in many cases, operate AI factories. Any operator without access to an AI factory will be missing an opportunity.
Artificial intelligence is also about to change the radio access network. This offers us a view of what the 6G era will deliver - billions of compute nodes that run AI workloads pervasively and interconnected networks that are intelligently connecting intelligence. To fully deliver this vision, the telecoms industry needs networks that are software defined, programmable and run on an intelligent hardware infrastructure. In this Special Address by Ronnie Vasishta, we will share extensive insights on how NVIDIA is working with industry stakeholders so they can leverage artificial intelligence to transform this critical industry.
