To manage NVIDIA vGPU licensing

Note: If the Licensing section and Manage License task do not appear in the NVIDIA Control Panel, the vGPU you are running on does not require a license, or the system has been configured to hide licensing controls in NVIDIA Control Panel.

  1. From the NVIDIA Control Panel navigation tree pane, under Licensing, select Manage Licenses to open the associated page.

The License Edition section shows if your system has a valid NVIDIA vGPU software license.

NVIDIA Control Panel detects that a vGPU is assigned to the VM and, therefore, provides no options for selecting the license type. After you license the vGPU, NVIDIA vGPU software automatically selects the correct type of license based on the vGPU type.

  2. If no valid license is listed, upload the Client Configuration token.

  3. (Optional) If there is a proxy server configured in your network and license requests from client must pass through this proxy server, then enter the Proxy Server information under Proxy Server Details section.

a. Enter the address of your proxy server in the Proxy Server Address box. The address can be a domain name such as proxyserver.example.com or an IP address.

b. Enter the port number of your proxy server in the Port Number box

The system will request the appropriate license for the current vGPU from the configured license server. If successful, the License Edition section will indicate that your system is licensed and, beginning with the Release 495 driver, will show the license expiration date in GMT time zone.

The license server details from which a vGPU license is acquired will be visible in the boxes under License Server Details section

If the system fails to obtain a license, review the Troubleshooting - Reference
